The Giant Monster

Torchwood copy

This is my actual Beta Fish called Torchwood.

Once upon a time in Lake M, there was a Giant Monster who ate up all the fish population. Soon, there was only one fish left: Torchwood. Torchwood is an amazing, cute, curious, active, red Beta Fish. Torchwood has superpowers of flying, swift swimming, knife fins, and MEGAFARTS!!! Now back to the story.

The Giant Monster chases Torchwood through rocks, a carcass of a Kracken, and bones lying on the floor of the lake. Torchwood is scared so he tries his new maneuver: MEGAFART!!  The Giant Monster is blown back immediately a Gazillion miles but gets super angry and races after him.  Torchwood hides behind a sunken ship’s treasure chest.

Torchwood is not out of sight for long!! The Giant Monster dives behind the treasure chest. They start to fight in a flurry of scales and fins!! Suddenly, Torchwood comes out of the dust and swims super fast back into the cloud of dust. Torchwood slices the Giant Monster’s guts with his knife fins! The Giant Monster’s guts spill out into the water along with all the fish he ever ate.

The fish come out and are all alive again. To sum up this story, Torchwood becomes the National Fish Hero and gets the “That Smells Fishy!” award. After he gets the award, all the fish are safely back in Lake M. This is the latest tale Torchwood has told me.

Another Baby Bird

Remember that bird I found about a month ago?

Look! It’s another baby bird.

I think this one had a broken wing.

It couldn’t fly, so I took it to an Animal Rescue Center.

This is the bird in the box.

I don’t think he liked it in there because he pooped. Or maybe it’s just because he didn’t like the color orange.

The people at the Animal Rescue Center said this bird was a baby cuckoo bird.

Humongous Catfish

Check out this cool catfish. I found it in my yard. I’ve been trying to figure out what might have eaten it and brought it on land.

Muskrat? Raccoon? Snake? Bird? Turtle? Beaver? (If you don’t believe beavers eat fish, take a look at this video.)

What do you think?

This is me poking it with a stick.

It has tiny sharp little teeth too. Do you see that tongue?

Look! Half of it is eaten. It must have been humongous.

Stay tuned, like my guitar, for more of The Independent Kid’s adventures.

Homemade Blueberry Juice

It’s me again. Today, I have a new recipe for you: Homemade Blueberry Juice!

I thought of making Blueberry Juice because for some reason, I wanted something BLUE to drink. It didn’t turn out BLUE, but it sure was yummy!

  • Blueberries
  • Honey
  • Water

Put blueberries, honey and water into your blender. Blend it. Taste it to make sure you have enough honey. Strain it into a bottle. And DRINK!

P.S. If you want a soda, just add baking soda for some fizz!

Found: Snake Back Bone

One day, I was walking and noticed a lot of noise. I went to check it out and there was a snake and a heron fighting outside. The heron flew away and left the snake on the ground without a head, just as I was approaching.

I left the snake because it was kind of spooky. When I left, guess what returned? The heron!

When I came back a few hours later, this is what I found. Sorry I didn’t have a camera to take a photo of the snake with its skin on, but this is even better.

Take a look at what was also left of the snake: blood and guts.

I didn’t know that herons ate snakes!
